Nature's Miracle

A first generation Monarch that was born at our home last week. My wife Leena noticed a migrating Monarch, returning from Mexico, laying her eggs on one of our milkweed plants in our backyard. Fascinating to watch nature transition from a small white dot on a green leaf until the beautiful butterfly emerges a few weeks later. We counted 81 total eggs and have seen nearly 30 emerge which far exceeds to 2% that typically make it to the butterfly stage. Leena took a cutting from our salvia plants behind the pool and took the Monarch to our media room so we could do a few portraits before releasing the Monarch so she could head north to produce more of these amazing butterflies!
