The frilled-neck lizard has a unique defence, when faced with danger, he stands his frill right up around his face as a guard to fend off attackers.

I have seen documentaries on this type of lizard and the way they make that frill stand out to make it look bigger and fiercer. Love how its colors match the branch. The colors and details are exceptional. Beautiful look and work here Debbie. #11434428

The only Frilled Neck Lizards I have come across were in the Northern Territory, and talk about camera shy, Debbie! This is a wonderful native wildlife portrait, a great capture! #11434641

Your closeups always have superb clarity and dof, Debbie, and this fella's "portrait" is no exception! Your pov shows off that "deflated" frilled neck beautifully. Guess you didn't pose a threat to him, since his neck isn't spread out from here to next Sunday! #11436077
